Crew Leader/Deck & Fence Installer

Here at MKW, a deck/fence installer or crew leader is someone that takes pride in their work and continually strives to achieve more. You will be responsible for leading a small crew and managing day to day operations on a job site.

A deck/fence installer or crew leader is responsible for:

• being familiar with building codes related to deck building.
• ability to read and understand drawings.
• coordinate a small team to effective and efficiently complete projects in a timely manner.
• maintain company tools and equipment.
• knowledge of building materials and installation methods.
• familiarity with all tools associated with installation.
• familiarity with all types of decking material.
• attention to detail.
• familiarity in building decks (footings, framing, decking, railings and stairs).
• familiarity in building fences (post setting, framing, boarding and gates).
• understand and follow health and safety guidelines.
• willing to teach others a valuable skill set.
• great customer service when working with clients

A deck/fence installer or crew leader should also have a valid G license with a clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle to get to job sites (or shop) in York and Durham Region, be punctual and confident. You must be confident in completing all aspects of a job from start to finish in a effective and efficient manner. A crew leader should not be afraid of occasional manual labour (digging post holes, carrying material) when necessary.

Labourer

Here at MKW, a labourer is someone that takes pride in their work and continually strives to achieve more. You will be a positive team player looking to learn a skill set and help complete tasks efficiently and effectively.

A labourer is responsible for:

• willingness to learn a valuable skill set and trade
• being punctual and reliable
• able to learn from mistakes
• able to work long hours
• assist carpenters and crew leaders
• able to perform manual labour (digging post holes, carrying material) when necessary.
• maintain company tools and equipment
• great customer service when working with clients.
• understand and follow health and safety guidelines.

A labourer should also have a valid G license with a clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle to get to job sites (or shop) in York and Durham Region, be punctual and confident. Experience is not necessary for this position, but you must bring a positive attitude, be a team player and looking to grow your skill set.
